NQT TERMLY ASSESSMENTS

NQT Termly Assessment Forms were due to be with HCTS last week.  Understandably under these unprecedented circumstnaces, we are receiving queries about the form submission and the future monitoring of the the induction period.

I hope the following will answer some of the common queries:

  • Forms will continue to be accepted with electronic signatures.  For the time being, they do not need to be signed by the headteacher and sent from his/her mailbox.  Any member of the SLT who is available can sign the head's box and submit the form from their email address providing the mentor (unless they are also the mentor) and the NQT are copied into the message.  We understand that it may take a few days to obtain signatures by email but please ensure the forms are submitted asap.
  • If an NQT is off school ill or self-isolating, please complete the absence box with the total number of days absence but where possible indicate how many of these days are due to the Coronairus restrictions.
  • At the moment the current situation is unclear as we have not received information from the DfE regarding how the current situation will affect next term's assessments.  I understand the number of days staff will be working may vary from school to school depending on the arrangement in place; NQTs may be teaching different groups of children; roles may alter considerably and the same level of mentoring support may not be available.  As soon as we have clarification, we will of course be in touch.

As always, our aim is to support the NQTs to successfully complete their induction period therefore please do not hesitate to contact either HCTS Admin on NQT@hullteachingschool.org or myself lesley@hullteachingschool.org to discuss any queries.  We aim to be as flexible as possible during this period of uncertainty.

Thank you to those of you who have already completed and returned your forms.

Look after yourselves and of course get in touch if you are unsure how to proceed!
