Estelle Macdonald our CEO is delighted to be awarded a OBE in the Queens Birthday Honours list 2016, for services to Education. She joins Ant and Dec on the list published on the 11th June.
Estelle says ‘This Honour is recognition of the team effort of the four founding heads, the directors,go and members of HCAT as well as all the staff and children in our schools. As the CEO of HCAT I am glad to accept it on their behalf as it truly would not have been possible without them.

Estelle has been the glue to keep Collingwood Primary School, HCTS and HCAT moving forward. In all her work many others share the vison and I know she would not want to take all the credit for their hard work and dedication.
Estelle has been a teacher for over 30 years and a headteacher for many of those and CEO of HCAT since its formation in 2013. She is part of a team of headteachers who have a passion for improving education and learning of the children in their schools in Hull.
Estelle as a newly appointed head of Collingwood Primary took the school from special measures to Outstanding in 2 years.
She pioneered the use of Restorative Practice in Collingwood, building community with staff, children and families to improve the life chances of and and its success encouraged others to follow in education and beyond, Hull became a Restorative City and she has been in demand both National and internationally. She was one of the first appointments as National Leader in Education(NLE) and continues to support schools outside HCAT as her morale purpose has always been ‘Children First’← Back to news
